WOW IN THE COMMUNITY
The women of WOW are blessed with tremendous support from the community! We are thankful for the many individuals and organizations that continually step up to assist us in reaching our goal of educating, supporting, and making people aware of breast cancer as it affects so many lives. Paddling is an incredible, powerful, and fun vehicle to help the world understand the importance of education, awareness and how we as cancer survivors are not just surviving, but thriving! Both individually and as a group, you will find the Warriors active in their neighborhoods and communities – making a positive difference in the lives of others as well.
You will find our Warriors “paying it forward” in many ways. We are blood donors, participants and organizers in many cancer walks including Susan G. Komen and Relay for Life and are excited to provide gifts for children to shelters at Christmas. Many are active members of their churches serving on Altar Guild, usher teams, provide assistance to the homeless, committee members and chairman. We provide assistance and support for other cancer patients as they undergo treatment. Give Kids the World and serving meals at The Hubbard House top the list of organizations that we now serve.
Being a member of this incredible team has helped us individually and as a group, to reach new heights in our journey of life; to become better fit – mentally, physically, spiritually, and to help us make a positive difference in the lives of others.
We are passionate about making this world a better place!
Warriors on Water now has a Meetup Group. The meetings are scheduled at Lake Fairview during our new paddler orientation and practice times. Survivors are invited to learn more about our dragon boating team during this time.
Through teamwork, empowerment, and sisterhood we help restore hope and faith in the future.
